Discover Balance with the Change of Seasons

What brings one person to their own sense of balance within oneself and their world can look different to each person. Learning to discover your authentic self and how to best serve your needs can take time, but the work of that personal investigation will reveal a fruitful existence.
We are witnessing the change of seasons, saying farewell to the gentle warmth or sometimes penetrating heat of the Summer and welcoming a the brisk colorful movement of the Fall. This experience of change is a reminder of natures cycles and allows us to reflect on our own changes giving insight into what may no longer serve our sense of inner peace.
As we embark into cooler days and gradually more darkness, it is important to let go of excess. Purify and release what may be holding you back (from thought patterns to physical clutter). Connect with what is truly meaningful to you. Learn to listen to your body and its needs.
Often with the cool brisk energy of the Fall there is a sense of urgency or feelings of restlessness. Remember to take time to slow down, listen and heal. Try Hatha Yoga, Meditation, taking naps, drinking warm tea, journalling… there are many tools available.
You must discover what is pleasurable to you and what keeps you connected and centered. Though each has their own way, realize you don’t have to do it alone! Find a community that you can connect with that nourishes you deeply. And remember to celebrate life itself as you bring joy into all you do!

WELCOME A NEW CLASS & NEW INSTRUCTOR TO THE CENTER Heavy Metal Yoga With Deb Platt WEEKLY Thursdays 6:30-7:30 pm (starts Oct 11th)

For years I have wanted to teach a heavy metal class and I’m so excited to make this dream a reality! People often ask what is Heavy Metal Yoga?! Isn’t yoga supposed to be relaxing?

There are many ways to practice yoga. And yes heavy metal yoga is relaxing, stress relieving, energizing, calorie burning and fun. It offers many of the benefits that yoga has to offer with the same result which is to promote an overall wellbeing. Heavy metal is one type of music that I love and fused with Yoga it can aid in helping you feel good physical and emotionally.

This class will begin with a centering exercise to set our intention and prepare us for practice, then we will begin warm-ups before our yoga flow and end with a cool down and a meditative exercise, all while listening to some of our favorite metal songs!

The class with be welcome to all at all levels. As with any exercise take breaks and come to neutral positions if you need to. No class will be exactly the same as the last, as intention, exercises and music will vary.

There will be no judging of ourselves or others as we may dance, yell, thrash, chant and have fun! Be prepared to let your wild side show in this yoga practice.

Come join us and Rock On! “Fly , on your way, like an eagle, fly as high as the sun !” -Flight of Icarus, Iron Maiden

Deb Platt is a certified yoga instructor through the Yoga Alliance since completing her 200 hour yoga teacher training at The POTEGP Spiritual Guidance Center 501(c)3 RYS.

NEW Pricing Structure beginning in October 2018

We are a Non-Profit 501(c)3 devoted to providing quality educational experiences at rates that are sustainable for a lifetime of practice. Since the Center’s opening in November 2011 we have kept the same price structure for our ongoing weekly classes. Expenses have increased over the years, and we are asking our community for help in keeping our services affordable to all. Change is inevitable, however we recognize it can still be uncomfortable. We are introducing a sliding scale structure, that way each person can examine what rate is affordable to them.

NEW Pricing Structure
$8-12 sliding scale Walk In rate for cash, cc or check ; we encourage you to only pay what is comfortable for your lifestyle. When paying with cash please indicate the change you would like back if you are not providing the exact amount.
$10-12 sliding scale when signing up via mindbody app (due to this services higher processing fees)
$95 for 10 class card, expires after 6 months
$75 for 10 class card (student, veteran, or seniors 60+), expires after 6 months
**ALL EXISTING CLASS CARDS WILL BE HONORED**

We thank you for your support and loyalty through this change!

If you’d like to help out in other ways you can contribute a tax deductible donation or select Philosophy of The Eight Guided Paths Spiritual Guidance Center as your Charity when shopping Smile.Amazon
